Online Exhibition »Voices. A Mosaic of Ukrainian-Jewish Life«
Jewish history of Ukraine in the digital space
An online exhibition
The virtual exhibition “Voices. A Mosaic of Ukrainian-Jewish Life” is dedicated to the realities of Jewish life in Ukraine in the 20th and 21st centuries. Using videos, photographs, personal stories and historical documents, it tells of the cultural diversity, challenges and memories that still continue to have an impact today. The presentation of interviews with contemporary witnesses creates a fragmentary yet comprehensive picture of the diversity of Jewish life in Ukraine.
The digital presentation on Google Arts & Culture is based on the exhibition of the same name, which was on show in Augsburg in 2022-2023. It was created in the immediate aftermath of the Russian invasion of Ukraine and was curated by Daria Reznyk and Andrii Shestaliuk, two Ukrainian researchers at JMAS. Supplemented by new videos and eyewitness accounts, the online version is a lasting digital testimony to Ukrainian-Jewish life.
