AN EXHIBITION BY »DAGESH – JEWISH ART IN CONTEXT« IN COOPERATION WITH THE JEWISH MUSEUM AUGSBURG SWABIA

In a time of change, nine international Jewish artists offer new perspectives on the changing world with their artworks. They explore the “in-between”, the upheavals, and ask about the interplay between tradition and the digitalized world. Their works invite viewers to reflect on their own position and ask questions: What influences do social changes have on one’s own life? How does society function in a pluralistic and digitalized world? What role does the past play in the present?

Against this backdrop, the exhibition presents artistic works in a wide range of media, including video art, photography and sound art. They reflect the diversity within the Jewish community. They demonstrate that there are different positions on current developments and discussions. What unites all the artists is their desire to shape social change together and in a diverse way.

Participating artists: Liliana Farber (URY/USA), Eduard Freudmann (AT), Oree Holban (ISR), Nikolay Karabinovych (UKR/BEL), Nicolás Melmann (ARG/D), Carlos Metta (MEX), Elianna Renner (CH/D), Aaron Samuels (USA), Hadas Tapouchi (ISR/D)
