Pupils make a museum
The Feast of Tabernacles begins in 2024 on the evening of October 16 and is one of the oldest festivals in the Jewish calendar. Its name is derived from the Hebrew term “sukkah” (tabernacle) and commemorates the Israelites’ time of hardship in the desert.
During the week of Sukkot, practicing Jews spend as much time as possible in variously designed huts that are erected outdoors for this purpose. Meals are eaten there and people pray together.
