Reading with Hanna Veiler

After October 7, 2023, everything changed. Young Jewish men and women in Germany feel the threat growing every day—at German universities, on social media, and on the streets. Hanna Veiler, president of the European Union of Jewish Students, gives this generation a voice. She tells of the hope for a new Jewish community that wanted to help shape Germany—and how that hope is giving way to fear.

A moving account of the struggle for identity and the future. For between anger and a newfound self-confidence lies the question: stay or go? In her book, Hanna Veiler weaves her personal experience with a thorough analysis of the dramatic rise in antisemitism. At her lecture at the University of Augsburg, she will present her book and engage in a discussion with students and attendees.
