Cooperative network for education, exchange and prevention of antisemitism in Swabia
The Antisemitism Commissioners at Swabian universities plan to work more closely with the Jewish Museum Augsburg Swabia in the future. What started as a simple informational exchange about the situation at universities and at the museum in the fall of 2024, has grown into a permanent group that meets at least once a semester.
»In the beginning, I was interested in how severly the universities in Swabia were affected by the sudden, rapid rise of antisemitism – and how they were dealing with it,« reports Hans-Eberhard Schurk, Chair of the Board of the Jewish Museum Augsburg Swabia and former leader of the Technische Hochschule Augsburg (THA), who started the initiative.
It quickly became clear that there was a demand for regular dialogue. First ideas for intercollegiate workshops and further joint activities were developed – with the goal of giving greater visibility to the valuable work done by the Antisemitism Commissioners at the universities and reaching out more actively to students.
