Temporary installation for Purim

Schoolchildren (re)make the museum

On Purim, Jews around the world celebrate the miraculous rescue recounted in the biblical Book of Esther. But why do people dress up on this day? And what is the significance of the noisemakers?

During a workshop, a primary school class from Augsburg learned about the festival and its customs and made their own objects, which we are displaying in the installation in the permanent exhibition.
